Supportive, emotional, hard-working, and over-protective -- these are just some of the qualities of the following cartoon dads.
1. Stephen (Father of 1)
Source: Hair Love on Youtube
Stephen notices his daughter Zuri struggling to do her own hair. Zuri's mom is in the hospital, so this is the first time Zuri has to get ready by herself. Stephen is understandably overwhelmed looking at a counter full of hair products, accessories, and tools. His solution is to cover her massive fro with a cute winter hat that has a pink pom pom on top. Zuri shakes her head in disapproval and encourages her father to tackle the daunting task.
Stephen's visibly nervous (evident of the sweat that rolls down his face), but after a bit of determination and concentration, he is able to complete the style Zuri loves.

2. Kwame (Father of 2)
Source: Cocomelon on Youtube
Kwame is Cody's dad from Cocomelon. He's patient, gentle, playful, and in tune with his children's interests. For example, for Cody's birthday, Kwame threw his son a dinosaur-themed party. In earlier episodes, you learn that Cody's favorite animal is a dinosaur and you always see him wearing a green shirt with a triceratops on it. Kwame got Cody a dinosaur cake, a dinosaur piñata, had the kids dig for dinosaur bones, planted dinosaur toys in giant eggs for the kids to hatch, and even dressed up as a dinosaur in a cardboard box.

3. Martin (Father of 2)
Source: LEGO Friends, Girls on a Mission on Youtube
Martin is a theatrical dad who's passionate about putting on a great show! We love that Martin also shares his sensitive side. Meaning, he can get emotional especially when things do not go as planned. For example, he cried when a member of his cast got injured. You'll witness Martin's downward spiral of negative thoughts when he dramatically says, "no mermaid, no shipwreck, no show!" He then publicly apologizes to an empty crowd of chairs before he is encouraged and comforted by his daughter.

4. Norman (Father of 25)
Source: Sing on Youtube
Norman shares a large litter with his wife Rosita. He's a hard-working father that you'll never see without a collard shirt, blue tie, and khaki pants. At home, he trips over his piglets' toys, and doesn't say much to them besides, "where's mommy?"

5. Officer Davis (Father of 1)
Source: Sony Pictures Animation on Youtube
Officer Jefferson Davis is the proud father of Miles Morales. In the first few minutes of the Spider-verse movie, you learn that Davis isn't afraid to embarrass his teenage son. For example, Davis "bumped" into Miles when he was walking to school. When Miles complained about his dad picking him up in his squad car, Davis assured his son he would spend a ton of time walking so that he could remove the urban art stickers he placed throughout the streets of New York. From this scene, Davis makes it clear that he watches his son even when Miles does not know he's looking.

6. Big Daddy (Father of 1)
Source: Sing on Youtube
Big Daddy is the super calculated and strong-willed father of Johnny, the talented singer in the movie Sing. While incarcerated, his fellow gang members can be seen jamming to a tv performance. Big Daddy stands to see that his son, Johnny, is the one with the incredible voice. Viewers witness Big Daddy's mood change from disgust and anger to pride and excitement. Big Daddy becomes so determined to get to his son, he uses his super gorilla strength to dismantle a concrete wall and escape from his cell.

7. Terry (Father of 2)
Source: Netflix
Terry juggles with having to parent two children in two very different stages of childhood. While Sean, his eight year old, laughs at his jokes, his older daughter, Lisa, has graduated from kisses and subtly admits that her dad has a habit of "flaking on his family." We think the show, My Dad The Bounty Hunter, did an excellent job portraying the complexities of modern day fatherhood. Terry has a relatively messy place, apologizes for being late, claims he had to "drop off his truck," and feeds his kids take-out.
Do Your Children Have Different Personalities?
yes
no
8. Homer (Father of 3)
Source: Simpsons
Homer is a fun-loving, family-centered dad who freaks out at least once an episode. We love that Homer never takes himself too seriously and seems to feel comfortable being his true self (especially in front of his kids).
While some may argue Homer may not deal with most situations in the ideal way, we appreciate that he eats with his family, watches tv with his family, goes shopping with his family, and is attentive to their needs. For example, when Bart is jealous that Lisa wins student of the month, Homer tries to cheer his son up by saying, "you're going to be glad you have a sister when you grow up."
Bart continues by implying that Lisa is the favorite. In which Homer responds, "I love you both the same amount -- 40%!"
Do You Think Homer's A Great Dad?
he tries!
absolutely not!
All the dads above seem to want the best for their children, but take very different approaches.
