Summary
600 Atlantic Federal Credit Union is one of the smallest credit unions in the city. It has less than 2,000 members, only 4 employees, but manages around $41 million in assets (half of which is in loans and leases).
What We Love...
All deposits are fully insured. Meaning the NCUA (National Credit Union Association) covers up to $250,000, and the MSIC (Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation) covers the rest.
Rates do not fluctuate as often as other institutions.
What We Don't...
Most Boston credit unions require $5 member share. 600 Atlantic requires $25.
Large minimum deposits for CDs.
Super slow website.
$1 fee for low balance (under $25).
Only open during the week for limited hours (closes at 3pm).
